Some information about songs and dances Icelandic
Icelandic song and dance character is given the origin of the people, northern people that were hundreds of years under Danish rule and Norwegian, who have made their mark on folklore.
Our partners in the project have tried to show us the remains and succeeded in preserving folklore that it had many years ago. Reasons sing and dance like everywhere are unique (love, joy, sorrow, difficulty daily events through which man goes through life).
The songs presented were particularly lyrical character, no concrete steps music, songs with melancholic character, Acapela or accompanied by stringed instruments very similar to the zither. With everything that religion is not the current big thing in their life and religious songs.
The folk dances are held on songs sung by the dancers and not accompanied by shouts. Formula dance is deployed in pairs with simple steps that follows in the drawing particular circle and line. An uninformed may easily confuse them with German dances.
